Lobe Pump

The MK FLOW Lobe Pump is a positive displacement rotary pump specifically engineered for handling high-viscosity, shear-sensitive, and hygienic fluids with precision and care. It uses two or more intermeshing lobes rotating inside a casing to move liquid with minimal turbulence and pulsation. Lobe pumps are widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and chemical industries due to their gentle product handling and sanitary design.

⚙️ Working Principle

In a lobe pump, the rotors (usually bi-lobe, tri-lobe, or multi-lobe) rotate in opposite directions within the casing without touching each other. As the lobes rotate, they form expanding cavities on the inlet side and contracting cavities on the outlet side, which results in fluid being drawn in and displaced. The design allows for handling of solids, slurries, and thick liquids without damage.
